Dear Friends of Puppetry In Practice,
We are forward to a challenging and fruitful new year.
As always, it is our aim to integrate literacy and multimedia arts into the lives of children. Puppetry In Practice helps children, parents and teachers find new ways to look at literacy.
As we get ready to start our fall programs, I am reminded of a letter I recently received from a student who was one our first Pip Pop Players and who is now in college. He said that being part of the group and performing in the group in local hospitals enhanced his self esteem.
We are thrilled to be able to continue offering this program with even more ambitious goals. The Pip Pop Players were started over 10 years ago with funding from The Meier Bernstein Foundation. The program involves special education high school students in creating and performing puppet theater. Our goal is to create a high quality repertory theater group. With the continued support of the Meier Berstein Foundation this year we are working with students from Sheepshead Bay High School, The League School and the Brooklyn Transition Center to produce a multimedia production of The Pied Piper of Hamlin.
Please check out additional program highlights in our next newsletter and check out our website featuring upcoming performances and technology programs.
In addition to what’s new, we continue to offer fantastic special Holiday Programs, Performances and Festivals for Halloween, Chinese New Year, Earth Day and Poetry Month! We also continue to offer incredible arts and literacy programs for In-School- and After School Residencies as well as Parent and Staff Development Programs all over NYC !
Many Thanks for Your Support!
