Parent Programs
PIP offers a series of parent workshops in conjunction with classroom residencies. We offer workshops specifically focused on ESL as well as programs providing parents with tools that better prepare them to support their children in their schoolwork.
Parents are outstanding resources in providing elements of their own folk cultures, which become part of the puppet dramas being developed by the children during their class-time. Because of the value given to this process, by PIP personnel, parents are able to actively contribute and tend to increase their involvement in the schools. PIP's exciting plays, celebrations and festival programs also often provide the hook that encourages parents to come to school events.
